Bio

Melissa Weiss is the executive editor of Jewish Insider, overseeing the production of Jewish Insider’s Daily Kickoff, a morning newsletter covering the Jewish community, Capitol Hill, Israel, the 2024 elections, antisemitism, philanthropy and business.

Prior to joining JI, she spent nearly a decade working in strategic communications in the nonprofit sector.

From 2015-2017, she ran the Israel on Campus Coalition’s National Operations Center as director of strategy and planning before joining the Simon Wiesenthal Center to restart their national campus initiative. She has consulted independently for a variety of non-profits and communications firms.
Melissa is a graduate of the University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism.
She has discussed the Israel-Hamas war on Fox News, Scripps News and NewsNation and has been published in The New York Daily News, USA Today, Women’s Health and the Baltimore Sun.
Following time in Seoul, Washington, D.C., New York and Mexico City, she made Aliyah in 2022 and currently lives in Tel Aviv.
